Priyans, your exeprience seems like the longest nightmare to me. But a good vauable information this is for MG EV owners.
Is it ok you can share contacts for MG People you interacted. I get my vehicle serviced in Bangalore, Yelahanka. Contacts others will help in future., I hope I don't wanna experience such issues and I hope HG will come with some fix to address this where it can be done remotely with help of RSA.
Thank you for reading the article. I don't think I can share their contacts on a public platform. But please feel free to reach out to me privately on any other social media and I'll be happy to share some contacts.
Thanks for sharing your experience Priyans. Can you pl share the communities you reached out during this ordeal as well. Will help us incase we face something similar. Have shared your experience with MG folks on social media as well. Hope they will work on your ideas & will smoothen experience of early adopters. Thanks
Yeah, the OEMs need to be more transparent about the issues and what can the users do to get it rectified as smoothly as possible.
I've gotten a 40m long extension cable custom made to slow charge my car when I am traveling. I haven't purchased any other accessories outside of that.
1st and foremost, did u eat the world famous dosa in davangere !!!
2nd, did you download the remapping software or setup ware on your laptop. and get the cable required to do this urself [along with other edits] as and when required - i know from friends in skoda do this
I had faced similar issue on my new MG ZS EV in 2022. The issue popped up after a 800km Gurgaon-Simla-Gurgaon trip. Vehicle control error happened when my driver was getting kids back from school and the car became non responsive with brakes not working. I threatened MG that I will file a case against the India management and MG for launching a vehicle without appropriate testing. I was given a loaner hector for 45 days and MG bought the car back at original invoice value and paid all financing and penalty charges. They also paid for fuel charges for 45 days.
The fault/error you encountered with the zs ev and the ordeal you faced to recover your vehicle is very troubling. I read an article, link is shared https://www.team-bhp.com/news/mg-zs-ev-refuses-start-after-charging-leaves-me-stranded. Just for my understanding, at the time you got the error, were you using the car app or enabling/disabling any connected car feature. I'm just thinking aloud here.. Maybe during the charging activity, or when the isolation test is not complete, if voltage ranges vary and at that time a car functionality is enabled/disabled the car goes into an error/freeze state... Resulting in a manual restart using a service laptop? Please don't think that I'm questioning you like a tech support person
I wasn't using any connected car feature nor was I using the car app. The problem was the communication between charger and the car, which led the car to go into freeze / isolation mode.
They did clear the flag using the service laptop at the Bengaluru SC and then the car operated just fine.
Got it. Thank you. If the ev maker in their user manual had mentioned that in case communication between a particular charger and car has a problem. Do not re-try or follow steps 1, 2, 3.. to clear the flag. It will surely make the ev charging experience a lot better.

Congratulations on getting the company to buy back the car.
