I made an EV chatbot 👀

It helps you find CPOs in your state and join communities!

Over the weekend, my cousin Yash and I worked on getting a chatbot ready for new and existing EV consumers in India.

What does the bot do?

It tells what CPO apps you need when travelling in a particular state / states based on the type of charging you need. Along with the top CPOs, it also mentions 1 small CPO in that state. It is unfair for only the big boys to have fun :)

It also lists prominent EV communities on Telegram where you can join, participate and get help.

What does the bot not do?

The bot won’t tell you which is the nearest charging station, nor does it recommend aggregators.

The bot also doesn’t do route planning. We have companies doing that as a business and it is outside the scope of this project.

Why did I do this?

We have 50+ CPO apps in the country as seen in the earlier blog post. It is not expected that the users will download all the apps. Thus, with this, they can download only the apps that will significantly cover the particular state / combination of states.

I strongly believe that users should be a part of the community. Communities can help solve doubts, discuss issues and help each other when needed. Many EV owners are yet to experience the power of a community.

How do I try it out?

All you have to do is click on t.me/ExpWithEVs_bot and send /start . You can also check out the walkthrough video on YouTube.

What data is being collected?

The username of the person accessing the bot along with the text being entered in the chat box.

How often will the charging data be updated?

I’ll try to do it atleast once in a couple of months. If the CPOs send me their data regularly, then the data can be updated more frequently. Please feel free to reach out to me via email at priyansevs@gmail.com and I’ll share a csv format to dump the data.

Is it free to use?

Yes. The bot is free to use. You’ll also not see ads on the platform. If you’ve found the bot useful, then you can send any amount you like on UPI ID - expwithevs@ibl or buy me a coffee.
