I have a Tata Tiago EV. Yesterday, I faced an HV Critical Error in my EV. It ran for a few km and then stopped. Then I waited and started again, and it again atop after some time. After 4-5 times, I reached the Tata Motors Service Center. They are still diagnosing the issue but no one is giving any satisfactory reply about the problem. Does other EV users face the same issue?

Hi Atul,

Yes, this is a common problem with Tata EV Cars. Now that you have given the car to the SC get the following steps done :

1. Ask them for a loaner car if they have. If not, then a written commitment of expenses to hire a car for 24h a day with fuel should be provided to you. Get a quote from a local travel agent and reach out to the SC. The commitment should be on email and not verbal.

2. Ask them to give in writing the following :

a. Why did this fault occur

b. How to avoid this fault in future

c. What solution did they do? If the solution is battery pack replacement, then again, in writing, ask for State of Health (SoH) of the existing battery pack and replaced battery pack, ask whether the replaced battery pack is new or refurbished. Irrespective of what they say about the warranty, this two pieces of information are critical for you as a consumer.

Yes, many EV consumers face HVCE issue on a regular basis.
